The winery was established in the Rogue Valley in 2001 by the Kinderman family. Uniting a keen knowledge for business and a passion for wine, the family began searching for the perfect vineyard site in 2000 and located a beautiful 126 acre farm that has been in existence in the valley for 100 years.
With much excitement, the initial 20 acre planting began in 2002, which was followed by much exhaustion by the whole family. They completed the winery in 2005. Today, they have a 30 acre vineyard estate and winery surrounded by magnificent vistas of Lower and Upper Table Rock and Mt. McLaughlin.
The unique microclimate at Agate Ridge lends itself beautifully to Rhone varieties. The southern facing slopes provide maximum exposure to the sun and the 1350 ft. elevation produce warm daytime temperatures that are perfect for the growth and maturation of the grapes.
