Chateau Nonchalant grows and provides Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, and Syrah grapes for the wine industry. The grapes are used by wineries in the Umpqua and the Willamette valleys in the state of Oregon.
The Chateau was started in 1998 by Weldon and Vicki Manning. The vineyard was planted on rootstocks grafted to clonal varieties selected to match the soil and climate in one of the Hundred Valleys of the Umpqua.
