Chehalem Description
Chehalem is a local Calapooia Indian word best translated as "gentle land".
The winery traces its history back to vineyard operations started by Harry Peterson-Nedry in 1980 at Ridgecrest Vineyards, the pioneering wine operation on Ribbon Ridge.
Bill and Cathy Stoller joined Harry in 1993 and subsequently planted their 125 acre Stoller Vineyards at the southern tip of the Dundee Hills.
Corral Creek Vineyards, is Chehalem's third estate vineyard. The 40 acre site adjacent to the winery facility is at the foot of Parrett Mountain, just north of Newberg.
Much admired by those in the know, Harry crafts some of our favorite wines: Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Rielsing, Gruner Veltliner, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Taste for yourself at their tasting room in Newberg, open daily, or at the winery on select weekends or by appointment.
