Henry Estate Winery was constructed in 1978 in time for the first harvest. Five generations of the Henry family have farmed the Umpqua Valley, and currently three generations run the estate. Henry Estate Winery is best known for Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and White Riesling.
The winery is nestled in Southwest Oregon's Umpqua Valley next to the Umpqua River, where the climate and soil type are ideal for growing varietal grapes such as the pinot noir, pinot gris, chardonnay, white riesling and müller-thurgau. Located near the 45th parallel, the Umpqua Valley climate is similar to the Burgundy region in France.
The founder developed a unique trellising system that optimizes the maturity of grapes for production of world-class wines. The Scott Henry Vertical Trellis System is used exclusively in their vineyards and is used throughout the world’s finest wine growing regions including: Australia, New Zealand, South America and North America.
