Steve and Christy Simmons founded Misty Oaks Vineyard in 2000. First planting occurred in 2000 and first wine production was made from the 2003 harvest. Steve and Christy have experienced many remarkable events in the field during their short tenure as vineyard developers. From these events they have derived names for each wine produced from areas of the vineyard based on these events such as Gobbler's Knob and Stuckagain Heights.
Currently six varietals are planted on fifteen acres of hillside ranging from 700 to 1000 foot of elevation.
The tasting room offers special pourings on Memorial Day and Thanksgiving weekend as well as winemaker dinners. Enjoy tastings with food pairings and special group discounts every Friday from the first week in June until Labor Day.
