The name Vidon (vee-dohn) references the names of owners and founders "Vicki and Don" who live a hop, skip and a jump away from the winery perched above the vineyard.
The vineyard rests on a 20 acre site in The Chehalem Mountains, rising from 400 to 500 hundred feet from the valley floor and facing south towards the Red Hills of Dundee. Vineyard and winery are certified sustainable and salmon safe.
Don, a former 'rocket scientist' at NASA, retired, then thinking back fondly to a stint in France, decided to turn his keen intellect and prodigious skills to producing wine; small lots of fine Pinot noir. Dave ably hosts the tasting room when Don's on his tractor.
